Closure Pale Ale
This week’s beer is new to Wise Guys: Closure Pale Ale from Greenbush Brewing in Sawyer, Michigan. I have only heard good things about Greenbush Brewing and I believe that we at Wise Guys are the only ones in the area carrying this item.
Boulevard 80 Acre
I chose Boulevard 80 Acre because with Three Floyds Gumball Head becoming harder and harder to find, I am looking for something that is comparable. Boulevard 80 Acre is described to be a “hoppy wheat” (same as gumball).
Schlafly Session IPA
I’ve been waiting for Schlafly’s Session IPA (4.5%). Schlafly Session proudly displays a big yellow square on the side of this can where it has the a.b.v in big bold print: 4.5% a.b.v., but still claims to have full flavor for session IPA. It is also a can so you can take it about anywhere.
Nectar Ale’s Nectar IPA
6 pk nr for $10.47
Left Hand Good Juju
This week’s beer is Good Juju, an ale from Left Hand. Good Juju is a session ale brewed with ginger. It comes in at 4.5% a.b.v., which is perfect for summer time. And I had to try Good Juju as the name just sounded interesting.
Two Brothers Resistance
Resistance is another out of the Two Brothers J Series. It is an IPA that has been aged French Oak Founders. This is a seasonal beer that normally comes out around this time.
New Belgium Rampant
I have reviewed some summer beer and session ales, but now let’s get back to what we all love…hops & lots of them.
I wanted to pick a beer that most people might ignore…New Belgium Imperial IPA. This is New Belgium’s first shot at an everyday big hoppy 6 pack.
Shiner Ruby Redbird
Shiner’s Ruby Redbird is this week’s beer. It is a Shiner’s summer seasonal flavor & will be featured at WiseGuys all month. Shiner’s description of this beer sounds very interesting: it states that it is “a beer brewed with Texas ruby red grapefruit juice & ginger.”
Southern Tier Hop Sun
I wanted to do a summer beer and I haven’t tried Hop Sun yet. I have been told that Hop Sun tastes like Three Floyds Gumball. (Since Gumball is rarely available and with summer approaching, I thought it would be a good one to review).
Appearance – Hop Sun is very light in color. Light gold/yellow with a medium head. It seems lively with a lot of carbonation
