Beer Style: Brown Ale
Appearance: Pours opaque brown with faint lacing
Aroma: Malt, smells like a Scottish ale
Mouth-feel: Smooth, medium body
Taste: Dark chocolate, sweet caramel malt with some coffee notes
Overall: The heavy malt flavor really reminds me of a Scottish ale. I expected this to be thinner, like Newcastle Brown, but was pleasantly surprised. All this malt hides the alcohol quite well. ABV = 5.8%
I would easily recommend this for any Scottish ale drinker or anyone looking to try a dark beer that isn’t too dark or bitter.
