Beer Style: Pumpkin Ale
Appearance: Pours orange-amber color with a faint head
Aroma: Cinnamon, pumpkin, spice, nutmeg and alcohol
Mouth-feel: A little thin with some creaminess in finish
Taste: Caramel malts, some hops in background, alcohol and bread
Overall: I was very curious to know how a barrel aged pumpkin ale would taste. You can taste the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale here as the base. I didn't get much bourbon in the first two sips but it does eventually show. The alcohol is certainly there as well (10% abv)
If you are looking for a different spin on the pumpkin ale this is worth a try. However, it is not as flavorful as some of the other pumpkin ales nor as balanced.
