Beer Style: American Pale Wheat Ale
This style is an American version of the German Hefeweizen, or “wheat ale.” Versions of this style can range from mild and sessionable, to bitter (depending on the brewery.)
Appearance: Slightly orange and yellowish with some haze. Large slowly dissipating head leaves some lacing
Aroma: Lemon, hops, wheat beer aroma
Taste: Lemon, piney, grapefruit, some orange and pepper finish
Mouth-feel: Medium body, light but dry finish
Overall: Stellar!
Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ is one of the best versions of the American Pale Wheat Ale.
It is also consistent in flavor (think Three Floyds’ Gumballhead, but not as sweet.) It does have a taste of alcohol as it is 6.4% ABV. It is a wheat beer for IPA fans.
I have had this beer a few times, (before it came to us at Wise Guys), and it has always been one of my favorites!
