Ten Hills Pale Ale by Goose Island
12 pk for $13.97
Beer Style: Pale Ale – originated in England. The American versions of this style vary greatly from brewery to brewery. They are typically less hoppier than IPAs with balanced hops and malt.
Appearance: Dark copper in color - 3/4” inch head
Smell: Floral hops and malt
Taste: Lots of floral hops at the beginning with solid malt backbone to follow. It finished bitter and dry. I also tasted caramel.
Mouth-feel: Nice body, smooth, and somewhat creamy
Overall: Since the sale of Goose Island to Anheuser Busch, I have been very critical of this brewery. I must admit that I really do like this beer. I thought that the floral hop flavor is fairly unique and it balances well with the malt profile. It is also quite sessionable with 6.2% ABV.
Cheers,
Beer Guy
