Southern Tier Pumking
22 oz. on sale for $6.97
Appearance – Southern Tier Pumking pours a light copper color, with a nice white head. It looks very alive.
Smell – Southern Tier Pumking smells great! I get a lot of pumpkin at the beginning followed by some cinnamon, nutmeg, and even some vanilla.
Taste – At the beginning, Southern Tier Pumking doesn’t have a lot of pumpkin taste. It starts with cinnamon followed by nutmeg. I taste some pumpkin at the end, but it wasn’t what I expected from the smell.
Mouth-feel – Southern Tier Pumking doesn’t have much of a mouth-feel. It is thin with some slight carbonation.
Overall – I really look forward to Southern Tier Pumking every year. It is one of the most consistent pumpkin beers. I remember it having more pumpkin flavor last year with less spices. It seems like this year it is the other way around--more spices and less pumpkin flavor, but it doesn’t bother me because it is still a great beer.
Southern Tier Pumking is loaded with cinnamon and spice in the middle, with a nice pumpkin finish at the end. This is the perfect beer to bring in the Fall, football, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.
Cheers,
Beer Guy
