Left Hand Good Juju
This week’s beer is Good Juju, an ale from Left Hand. Good Juju is a session ale brewed with ginger. It comes in at 4.5% a.b.v., which is perfect for summer time. And I had to try Good Juju as the name just sounded interesting.
Appearance – Good Juju pours a very light copper color with a thin white head that disappears rapidly. It seems very lively with lots of carbonation.
Smell – All over ginger with a slight bit of sweetness.
Taste – Good Juju tasted exactly as described on the label. It is an ale brewed with ginger. There is a ton of ginger up front and it lingers the entire time, from start to finish with a slight lemon end. I don’t get a lot of malts or hops. There is a slight bitterness at the end and I do mean slight.
Mouth-feel – I don’t have much to say about mouth-feel. There just isn’t much there…super-thin. I should point out that the ginger leaves your mouth feeling refreshed.
Overall – If you like ginger Good Juju is for you! I could really see this pairing well with different types of food. If you don’t like ginger, this beer is not for you.
