Beer Style: Pumpkin Ale
Appearance: Pours cloudy, copper with a 1⁄2 inch initial head
Aroma: Pumpkin, cinnamon, spice, clove, faint bubble gum
Mouth-feel: Creamy start with a drying finish
Taste: A lot of pumpkin, cinnamon and spice present in this beer with some hops in the background. The alcohol is noticeable as well.
Overall: Very good representation of the style. Unicorn Killer has all the characteristics of standard pumpkin ales but it’s not sweet like the majority of the beers in this style. It is also so potent in cinnamon-spice that I am fairly certain one is enough for a sitting.
If you haven’t tried a pumpkin ale this is not likely for you, but if you are looking for one a little more complex, Unicorn Killer fits the bill.
