Beer Style: Belgian Style IPA
IPA or India Pale Ales are beers that focus on bitterness and hop profile. Originally made with extra hops to withstand long sailing trips, they have evolved into a "cult" beer style in the USA. Raging B IPA also has Belgian yeast added.
Appearance: Copper in color with 1/2 inch white head
Aroma: Belgian funk, hops, flowers
Mouth-feel: Starts smooth and finishes very dry
Taste: Very complex, lots of flavors going on here. Very bitter, piney and floral hops. The Belgian qualities here would be that of a triple IPA’s yeasty characteristics.
Overall: Raging B is really quite a beer. The name itself gets attention but the focus should be on the beer. You can taste something different with each sip. At times Raging B is dominated by hops--then comes the Belgian yeast and funk.
This beer may only be available for a short time as Flying Dog is halting shipments to Indiana (temporarily).
