Beer Style: Seasonal Ale – This seasonal ale is brewed with pecans and peaches
Appearance: Amber in color with ¼” head
Smell: Peaches
Taste: Malt, peaches, and some pecans with some bitter hops on the finish
Mouth-feel: Creamy, light, and smooth
Overall: This is quite a unique beer. I didn’t know what to expect with the peaches and to be honest…I thought it would be fruity and syrupy. It is NOT. The peach flavor works well with the pecans and none of those flavors are over-powering. It is a very balanced beer considering the ingredients. The flavor is unique enough that it draws you back to taste it again. This beer could work well with dessert or on its own.
Shiner Holiday Cheer is only available for a limited time and is definitely worth a try. One of the best winter brews I have tried.
