Black Chocolate Stout by Brooklyn Brewery
4 pk for $8.97 for a limited time
Beer Style: Imperial stout – a style of beer that was brewed to impress the Russian Czars back in 1800s. This style is typically heavy on the malt and heavy on the alcohol as well. This is a variation of an Imperial Stout brewed with dark chocolate.
Appearance: Black in color; 1/2” inch head with perfect lacing
Smell: Dark chocolate, coffee
Taste: Dry and bitter dark chocolate with coffee notes and roasted malt
Mouth-feel: Creamy and dry...Rich and smooth
Overall: This is Brooklyn’s winter seasonal release and it is somewhat different from year to year. I anxiously look forward to this yearly release. This year’s version is outstanding! There is so much dark chocolate and coffee flavor it is hard to believe this is a beer. The chocolate malt flavors I get really draw me to consume this beer faster than normal beer they taste so good! But at 10% ABV, you have to take it a little slow. Buy a 4 PK to drink now and one to age. The brew ages with the best of them. If you only get one winter seasonal beer this year, make it this one.
Cheers,
